Teardrop
Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a devastating viral disease in cats caused by a mutated form of feline coronavirus, often striking young kittens with severe inflammation, fluid buildup in the abdomen or chest (wet form). Symptoms include persistent fever, lethargy, appetite loss, swollen belly, breathing issues, and more—once nearly always fatal.
Thanks to breakthroughs like GS-441524 antivirals, FIP is now highly treatable with success rates over 85-90% when caught early, allowing kittens to make full recoveries and live normal lives.
However, in Canada (including Toronto), a full 12-week course of legally compounded GS-441524 for a growing kitten will cost our rescue $1000+ CAD. This cost does not include other medical bills such as bloodwork, X-rays and vet visits.
We are fundraising for our sweet little fighter, Teardrop, and every donation helps cover these lifesaving meds.
Please share and donate if you can—no amount is too small!
